Located between Plaza Midwood, Uptown and Eastover, Elizabeth is often-times seen as one of Charlotte’s hidden gems. Named after a local women’s college, the area is known for its historical significance with a large portion of the neighborhood located on the ‘National Register of Historic Places’. Here you will find mature-tree lined streets with homes featuring bungalow-style front porches.

It’s a warm and welcoming community that offers a great mix between a fast-paced hustle and bustle lifestyle of the city and local colleges, with the relaxed energy of long-time locals.

Attractions

The area has great walk-ability with access to a number of restaurants, shops and offices, many of which were converted from historic buildings built in the 1900s. Elizabeth is also home to two major hospitals and Central Piedmont Community College.

One of Elizabeth’s most notable attractions is Charlotte’s first public park, Independence Park. With over 19-acres, the park features baseball, soccer and tennis areas with a rose garden and pond.
